Platform Overview

How the Platform Works

Expert Grant Ecosystem operates a multi-sided marketplace platform that connects grant-seeking businesses with the independent professionals who help them pursue funding. The platform itself provides infrastructure: project management tools, AI-assisted workflows, payment processing, certification frameworks, and compliance automation. The professional services delivered through the platform are provided by independent Strategists, Referral Agents, Instructors, and other certified participants under their own agreements.

Each participant role operates under a defined contractual framework. Clients access the platform under a Client Platform Agreement (CPA) with Expert Grant Ecosystem and engage Strategists under direct Service Engagement Agreements (SEAs) between Client and Strategist. Strategists (Subscribers) operate under the Platform Services Agreement (PSA). Referral Agents operate under the Referral Alliance Agreement (RAA). Instructors operate under the Instructor Services Agreement (ISA). EDIP Participants operate under the EDIP Participation Agreement. The complete enumeration of operative agreements by role and counterparty is in the How participants engage section below.

Marketplace architecture and merchant of record

Expert Grant Ecosystem operates as a marketplace under Stripe Connect. Strategists, Referral Agents, and Instructors are independent professionals with Stripe Connect Express accounts who deliver their services to Clients under their own agreements.

Expert Grant Ecosystem serves as the merchant of record for payment processing. The platform receives Client payments, distributes platform-allocated revenue to the relevant independent professional, and absorbs payment-related risk (chargebacks, disputes) as a contracted infrastructure value-add provided to the independent professionals operating on the platform.

This separation of service-delivery responsibility (owned by Subscribers as Providers of Record under their direct Service Engagement Agreements with Clients) from payment-infrastructure responsibility (owned by Expert Grant Ecosystem as Merchant of Record under the Client Platform Agreement) is the foundation of the platform's franchise-defense architecture. The architecture is documented in detail in the operative Client Platform Agreement (CPA §5.8) and Platform Services Agreement (PSA §1.3.3 and Exhibit B §1.3.1.7).

What the platform provides

The platform delivers a comprehensive set of infrastructure capabilities to the independent professionals operating on it and to the Clients they serve. The capabilities below are operative, contracted, and continuously developed.

Tools and workflows

  • Customer relationship management (CRM) and project tracking infrastructure; persistent engagement record-keeping across the platform.
  • AI-companion tools: the Expert Grant Ecosystem Strategy Companion AI (Strategist-tier AI toolkit for client strategy, planning, and deliverables), the CPA Companion AI (Client orientation and platform questions), the AI Enhanced Client Strategy Workbook (structured between-session client workspace), and the Restricted Industries Eligibility Reviewer (industry-screening tool).
  • Communications infrastructure: professional phone, email, and A2P-compliant messaging supporting engagement-related communications.

Matching, certification, and quality

  • Matching and attribution infrastructure: the Lead Lock Registry, the Strategist Lock framework, and automated lead-routing systems route prospective Clients to certified Strategists and track referral attribution back to the introducing Referral Agent.
  • Certification process for Strategists (issuing the Certified Grant Strategy Consultant credential) and Instructors before engagement delivery; ongoing certification maintenance.
  • 22-tier quality framework with Active Professional Liability Insurance required at Silver tier and above.

Payment infrastructure

  • Stripe Connect Express account onboarding and ongoing management for each seller-side independent professional.
  • Dispute infrastructure including the Universal Rolling Reserve Protocol; chargeback and payment-dispute resolution operates end-to-end through the platform.
  • 1099 reporting and tax form generation for Connected Account holders based on their net platform-distributed earnings.
  • Geographic Division architecture supporting cross-jurisdiction operation with per-jurisdiction settlement currency and applicable regulatory frameworks.

Compliance and risk

  • Compliance automation including Restricted Industries Policy enforcement; industries incompatible with grant administrator eligibility requirements are screened out before engagement begins.
  • The Solvency Engine and Audit Defense storage; long-term financial-health monitoring and persistent record-storage infrastructure supporting the platform's operational obligations.

Independent professional, independent practice

Expert Grant Ecosystem does not deliver grant strategy, training, or any other professional services in its own name. The platform does not compete with the independent professionals operating on it. Strategists deliver grant strategy; Instructors deliver training; Referral Agents introduce prospective Clients; EDIP Participants make institutional-channel introductions. The platform provides the infrastructure that makes these engagements administratively reliable, contractually clear, and operationally efficient.

This separation is intentional. Each independent professional maintains independent contractor status, sets their own pricing, exercises their own professional judgment, and operates under their own business identity. The platform supplies infrastructure and standards; the professional supplies the expertise.

How participants engage

Each participant role engages with the platform under a defined contractual framework. Sponsorship arrangements supporting platform-wide community resources and training programs are governed by separate sponsorship agreements as those programs activate.

Each operative agreement is provided to the relevant counterparty at engagement and is not published in full on the public website. The website identifies them by name for transparency; the Legal hub hosts the unified Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum and the Terms of Use.

What the platform does not do

Expert Grant Ecosystem does not:

  • Prepare grant applications, deliver training, or perform any professional services in its own name; those services are delivered by independent professionals under their own agreements with Clients.
  • Broker grants, sell access to grant opportunities, or act as an intermediary between grantors and grant recipients.
  • Disburse grant funds, hold grant funds in escrow, or act on behalf of any grantor.
  • Guarantee grant outcomes or promise that any specific application will be funded.

Professional services are delivered by certified independent professionals operating under the platform's frameworks. Grant funding, when awarded, flows directly from the grantor to the grant recipient.
